Minimization of Electric Power Losses on 132 kV and 220 kV Uganda Electricity Transmission Lines

The classical minimization of power losses in transmission lines is dominated by artificial intelligence techniques, which do not guarantee global optimum amidst local minima. Revolutionary and evolutionary techniques are encumbered with sophisticated transformations, weaken the techniques. Power loss crucial to efficient design operation lines. Minimization one way meet steady grid supply, especially at peak demand. Thus, this paper has presented a gradient technique obtain optimal variables values from model, efficiently minimizes modifying traditional model that combines Ohm Corona losses. Optimality tests showed unmodified does support on as Hessian matrix portrayed maximization However, modified consistent method optimization, yielded developed study. (modified) models for Bujagali-Kawanda 220 kV Masaka West-Mbarara North 132 Uganda maximum 0.406 (0.391) 0.452 (0.446) kW/km/phase respectively. These results indicate superior minimizing should be implemented within outside same voltages.
